In a way to honor his memory, MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY is happy to announce plans for the "K-TOWN KLASH - The Inaugural Casey Knutson Memorial" - which will now be the official 2020 Season opening event on Friday, April 24th, 2020! "Anyone in the sport, specifically here at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY , knows just how special of a person Casey was", said MTS Promoter Tyrone Lingenfelter, during a FaceBook Live announcement held Friday morning February 28th, "This is our way to honor Casey's memory. Casey always liked the big shows that we have here at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY - actually winning a few of them - and so we decided that we wanted to put on another big show, just for Casey." MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY has already put forth a strong payout for this event, the twist is that now, friends, fans, former sponsors, or local/area/regional/national businesses can get involved, with that hopes being that we can end up with a legitimate "$12K for 12K" event.
